With over 15 years of experience, I am a designer, front-end developer, and illustrator who places a significant focus on enhancing user experiences.

I've demonstrated a high level of skill as both a designer and developer, bridging the gap between design departments and engineering teams while focusing on user needs by architecting user workflows, developing high fidelity designs and prototypes, and creating standards and styling solutions used by cross-functional teams.

I've spearheaded the creation of design systems and component libraries at multiple organizations, both large and small, to drive consistency in the user experience and speed of development for SaaS platforms.

Principal UX Engineer / Designer

I worked on the User Experience team as both a designer and engineer, contributing to the development of an adtech platform.

Duties and accomplishments:
  • User Experience design of new features for the platform including: interpreting product requirements, reviewing and applying user feedback, creating workflows, wireframes, design assets and mockups.
  • Leading the creation of code-based prototypes to drive qualitative and quantitative user research and feedback for complex UX features.
  • Establishing design standards and documentation for our design system and component library.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers to ensure adherence to design standards, and directly contributing to the production code for feature implementation.
  • Helping to successfully navigate the merger of two platforms, working directly with production code, to allow users to seamlessly navigate between disparate systems without a jarring change to the experience.

Front-End Developer

I worked on the development team of a fast growing online education company to build out an e-learning platform. My duties included building and maintaining new features for the platform and marketing sites using HTML, CSS (SASS) and Javascript. Also worked collaboratively with product managers and designers to develop an internal design system.

Senior UI/UX Engineer

As a member of the Design Ops team, I helped to create a design system and component library (http://preamp.design) used in the development of web applications for the VideoAmp advertising platform.

Duties and accomplishments:
  • Developed reusable React components in TypeScript.
  • Architected an SVG icon system that allowed for various levels of customization: size, color, dual tone support (http://preamp.design/#/signal).
  • Made sure the components matched specifications from the design team.
  • Developed a coding standard and was the subject matter expert for styling in the VideoAmp platform.
  • Created and maintained the CSS framework used in the system (https://preamp.design/#/mixer/).
